Let me help you find a home why work with me
Here’s my story.
I’m born and raised in Maryland, specifically the Hereford zone. Growing up I went to two elementary schools, one middle school and two high schools - jumping back and forth from public and private as my parents believed a private school setting would be more beneficial for me.
Also knee-deep in sports, it allowed me to make a lot of friends along the way. Having to adapt to new settings every few years helped me get out of my comfort zone. I continued the tradition of jumping schools when it was time for college.
I originally attended York College to play lacrosse, but after a fall semester, I decided it’s time to hang up the cleats. A year and a half later I transferred to James Madison University where I could focus on business school and enjoy a true college atmosphere.
Upon graduating, knowing I always wanted to be in sales, I started selling copiers for Advance Business Systems.
An amazing family-like atmosphere and mentors who truly cared about you professionally and personally, laid the groundwork for my sales career.
I then got into the medical sales field for a brief time at a start-up, but I soon learned that wasn’t the path for me.
A friend from Advance helped me get a job at the largest Dental company in the world where I sold everything related to a root canal procedure for years. I had an amazing mentor (now a great friend), and then the world shut down.
The company changed, procedures changed, responsibilities changed, and the company I worked hard for was totally different.
I recognized this early enough that I knew I had to put things in motion on my end to look out for my family and our best interests. I realized corporate life was no longer for me.
In high school, I was able to work an internship my senior year where I’d leave for half the day and go to a job to see what the real world was like.
I was able to get an internship at a local real estate brokerage to see firsthand how homes were bought and sold.
At that time, most of the agents were sending out requests for marketing material to be designed and made by print shops.
I had much more knowledge about designing and using the computer to create these items myself than anyone could believe at the time.
So I was able to pick up side work for agents and save them lots of money by designing these for them.
The internship and the sales jobs I had after college helped lead me into real estate.
There’s no other job that gives you the results that directly correlate to the effort that you put in, other than real estate.
The ability and freedom that’s in front of you to figure out a way to make things happen, and impact clients directly is hard to find outside of real estate.
I wanted to hold the keys to my future and my success. With a wife and two young kids, it was certainly a risk diving into this full-time, but I firmly believe that taking risks is how you get ahead in life, and it’s something that I thrive on.
In the beginning, being an agent is like drinking from a firehose. There’s so many things to do and you can be pulled in so many different directions.
I was lucky enough that I knew one of the best agents in the state and he offered me to join his team. One of his younger agents had previously helped us buy and sell our homes, so it was a no-brainer. Being able to learn from the best every day is immensely valuable to me, so I never considered going anywhere else.
I enjoy helping people with one of the largest decisions of their lives. The world we live in has lost its personal touch and genuine care for one another. I live by the creed of treating others as I would want to be treated. I listen to what my clients need and strive to over-deliver on my commitments to them.
There’s a lack of accountability running rampant in the world so I work in tandem with my clients so there’s no lack of communication. We want to always make sure we’re on the same page.
Looking for feedback and masterminding with other agents to perfect my craft so that my clients have the best experience possible is something that drives me. There’s nothing better than the smile on their faces and the genuine joy that comes over them when the final papers are signed.
Serving others and being someone others can lean on will never get old. If you know me or work with me, you’re family. With that support I've sold over 22m the past couple years, and ranked in the Top 200 Realtors in Maryland.
Now today, and every day, I’m grateful for the opportunity to be helping people relocate in and out of the Baltimore Metro area, selling their homes for top dollar, backed by Maryland’s fastest growing brokerage.
Cheers!
Mike
